The second Huw Thatcher Upperthong Cricket Club cycle challenge was a real success: thank you to everyone
With thanks to everyone involved, we had a great (and tiring!) family day out on Saturday 28th July. Everyone had a good time and we raised £750 at the same time.
An update from July that saw so much dedication and kindness, lots of memories of Huw and a lot of fun ♥ ♥ ♥
Here is a picture of Huw from summer two years ago to start this message about what has been happening to remember Huw this summer. It is a lovely picture of a happy and handsome Huw, a few months before his 15th birthday.
1st Upperthong Brownies raise over £400 cycling at Sands :)
At the end of May (as shown in the picture) 1st Upperthong Brownies did a sponsored cycle around Sands at Holmfirth and raised over £400.
Not quite 24 hours, but it wasn’t far off. Over £1,000 raised at football on 7th July as the bananas play out of their skins
The second Huw Thatcher Trust 5 a side football tournament took place on Saturday 7th July with 160 players and lots of spectators having a great day.
A unique night for a unique young guy at the Picturedrome on 30th June 2012
So many good things to say about the 2nd gig featuring Age of Paranoia – and this year for the first time HTT – a band of 16 year olds and younger of Huw’s friends who shared the plaudits a the Picturedrome on Saturday 30th June 2012. Lots of smiles and laughs, great music, lots of commitment and effort from lots of people. A true community event featuring people from the age of 7 to over 70. That made it a unique night, totally fitting to remember a unique young guy called Huw Thatcher who we all thought about last night ♥ ♥ ♥.
