15 blue stars as we remember the brightest star of all ♥♥♥
Christmas love and good wishes for every one of Huw’s friends and family members – and everyone who has supported the Huw Thatcher Trust. And here are 15 blue stars as we remember the brightest star of all. The star that burned bright for 15 ½ years and will always shine above us.
Also – with thanks to Steve Thatcher (AKA Uncle Steve – among other non printable things) and Rod Young for this photo of a star for Huw, on a public Christmas tree in Cardiff. With the help of his family and friends, Huw’s star will shine forever and will always represent what is good in the world ♥♥♥.
Thank you for the Christmas cards this year and just in case anyone thinks I’m being rude not sending any myself – I have made a donation to the Huw charity again this year in lieu of cards and that feels the right thing for me to do at this moment in time.
Everyone has their own memories of Huw at Christmas – whether it is the New Year’s eve party at his friends, time with family, and when he was younger – Christmas shows. A big memory for me in the build up to Christmas is the Hepworth football bowling night – Huw standing and laughing with his friends – often the centre of attention. A lovely smile across his face and a handsome young guy completely at ease with life. He was just as much at ease on the 5 a side pitch later that night when he and his friend played with the adults – and as a 15 year old he dominated the game with coolness, skill and class. Needless to say, I made sure he was on my side! Indeed, Huw lived all his life with class, and all of us who are his family and friends were lucky to have him on ‘our side’. And now is a good time to say thank you again, to all those people who have supported Huw over the years and continue to do so through the Huw charity.
On a recent positive note about Huw’s charity – well the unexpected kindness and generosity sometimes means the most. The other day we received a cheque from Liverpool Victoria for £430 from the Huddersfield office. Staff were asked to vote for their favourite charity and an employee (not named) chose the Huw Thatcher Trust and his/her idea was selected. Thank you to whoever that was, it means so much that without us always knowing, people are thinking of Huw and the wonderful charity he is at the heart of. The Trust has now raised £70,000 and that has continued to build throughout 2012. I am sure that with the help and love of Huw’s family and friends, the Huw Thatcher Trust will continue to be a success in 2013.
