Carys: sneaking extra food!

Dad always tried to make sure Huw and I ate healthily with lots of fruit and not too much unhealthy food.  Huw and I knew Dad was doing the right thing but we always tried to find a way of getting extra snacks.  When Huw got back from football on Sundays I would always make sure there was a packet of crips waiting for him in his bedroom.  On his way up for a bath before lunch, I’d tell him where they were!  Dad never knew about this until I told him 2 weeks ago!

Nick Thatcher: Hepworth United – early days

It seems like a few months ago that I first took Huw down to Hepworth Training as a 5 or 6 year old – I’m not sure if it was 9 or 10 years ago!  Anyway – I was introduced to the club by Martin Bland who I was working with at the time.  Within a few months I was involved with training the 6 year olds – with Pete Atkinson.  And that’s when I first met people like Bambi and Bob Wright.  Read more »

George Huw’s drum teacher: drums lessons

  Huw loved George, his drums teacher – he was more than a drums teacher – and the feeling was mutual.  George says “I used to look forward to our lessons immensley – not only a joy to teach but a great friend to spend time with.  I miss him very much.”  George helped to shape Huw’s life in a positive way – regarding music – but also beyond that.  Thank you George.

Nick Fitzpatrick: Tennis Lessons

Huw loved Tennis.  He started when he was a little toddler at Thongsbridge Tennis Club having junior lessons.

Some years later, Huw was star struck when he got the opportunity to have a short rally with Martina Hingis at the Club – pleased to say, he did himself very proud!
