Huw’s friends do presentations about the Huw Thatcher Trust at school
Following the successful non uniform day at Holmfirth High School in November Huw’s friends have been doing presentations at year 7, 8 and 9 assemblies. And here’s one of my favourite photos – 14 year old Huw and his lovely friends having an amazing time in April 2010.
Huw having fun over the years ♥ ♥ ♥
There’s some pictures of his flower tubs at Sands in the winter here too – they’re in great shape for the time of year and will be blooming with blue and yellow in a few months.
A memory frpm Emily Perrons: ‘you would make everyone feel special and somehow lift us all up when we were down’
Emily and Grace Perrons were great play mates with Huw and Carys from the age of 5 upwards; they had a lot of fun together when they were young children. Here are some lovely memories from Emily – thank you Emily for your permission to put this on Huw’s web site.
Huw will shine forever – thank you for keeping a light shining for Huw at New Year ♥ ♥ ♥
2011 has been a tragic year; it still seems impossible that Huw is not well into his 17th year and enjoying New Year. Many people who enjoyed Huw’s company over the years will be thinking about him this New Year. Here he is on the New Year bank holiday weekend last year.
Memories of Christmas times with Huw ♥ ♥ ♥
Huw enjoyed himself at Christmas time every year. Many of us have lovely memories at Christmas of his smile, banter, sense of fun, nice time with his friends, and his love of his extended and immediate family. Here he is at Christmas time last year – laughing because the star would look like it was sticking out of his head.
A memory from Abbie Dare: you were one of the loveliest guys I have ever met, you looked after me and never failed to make me laugh
Here’s a lovely message from Abbie Dare; Abbie went to Wooldale Primary School and met Huw 3 years ago. This is what she says about him. (Don’t blame Abbie for the history cartoon here – that’s my idea!) Read more

I just read the title for this post again and it reminded me of Huw – it was always busy when Huw was around so it feels just right that the Huw Thatcher Trust is just the same ![]()
On 13th September, Huw’s Trust had raised £31,000. Three months later the total was well over £43,000; here are some highlights from those 3 months.
Three excellent Saturday evenings in November when many of the parents remembered Huw in a positive way
